The Mentor Ice Breakers, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, have completed a trade with the Battle Creek Rumble Bees, adding defenseman Marc Steele in exchange for forward Jackson Tucker and the rights to defenseman Egor Kostyukov.

Tucker posted six points (3-3-6) over 27 games as an Ice Breaker and has previously played for the Port Huron Prowlers and Elmira Enforcers. Kostyukov is currently on loan with the Pensacola Ice Flyers (SPHL) and never played for Mentor after the team acquired his rights in a deal with the Delaware Thunder earlier this month.

Steele is a 23-year-old out of Danville, New Hampshire with nine assists in 37 games this season, including a pair of appearances with the Carolina Thunderbirds. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder played at Springfield College (ACHA III) from 2017-19, finishing as the team's second-leading scorer in each of his two seasons and completing his career with an 18-18-36 scoring line in 31 games. Ice Breakers captain Nate Farrington is also an alumnus of Springfield.

Steele will fill a hole on Mentor's roster as a big-bodied defenseman and should help shore up an Ice Breakers defense that has struggled as of late.

The Ice Breakers are back in action this weekend with a two-game set against Port Huron at McMorran Place to close out a six-game road swing. They will return home on February 21-22 for a pair of games against Elmira. Tickets are on sale now at or by calling (440) 290-8502.
